The Art of Returning

It feels like forever since I last sat down to write here! Life has been non-stop lately and between juggling projects, day-to-day commitments, and everything in between, blogging ended up slipping down the list. Amidst the chaos, taking an hour out of my day to sit down and reflect hasn’t really been an option. I have really missed the chance to pause, reflect and attempt to dissect my own thoughts and feelings. So, I’m finally back, and I’m excited to pick things up again and let you in on what I’ve been up to.

As September edges closer, I can feel that familiar mix of excitement and nerves bubbling up. I’ll be heading back to university soon, and while part of me is a little anxious about getting back into the swing of things, another part of me is eager to dive right in. There’s something refreshing about having a fresh start on the horizon, even if it comes with a few butterflies in the stomach.

In the meantime, life at home has been busy in the best way possible. My renovation project has really started to take shape, and it feels so rewarding to see the progress. The kitchen is officially finished (finally!), and we now have brand new floors running throughout the kitchen, hallway and master bedroom. One of the biggest transformations has been the new bifolding patio doors. They’ve completely changed the feel of the house.. letting in so much light and opening up the space beautifully.

They’ve also been a lifesaver during this unbearably hot spell. With what feels like half a wall missing in the living room, the air flows through the house so much more easily, and it actually feels bearable indoors. It’s funny how one change can make such a huge difference.

This weekend, I’ve been busy with the master bedroom. The painting has started and should be wrapped up in the next day or two. It’s already looking brighter and more inviting and I can’t wait to see it fully finished. On top of that, I’ve arranged to have the guttering replaced in a couple of weeks. It’s one of those practical jobs that isn’t very glamorous but makes a huge difference, especially when winter rolls around. Hopefully, it’ll help protect the walls and keep everything in good shape for a few years to come.

So between preparing for university and pouring so much energy into the house, it feels great to finally be writing again. I do believe blogging will be a positive step for my mental health overall and definitely assist with my overactive brain. Change can be daunting, but right now, it feels exciting too!

Thank you for reading.
