Beneath the Silent Sky

Written by Zoë Leigh

In my darkest dreams, I had not imagined what life could really be.

As I fall into the deepest depths of pain, a dark void stares back at me.

I stand beneath the sky, where the stars glisten in their silence.

And the grass, damp with night, presses cool against my feet.

Tears cascade down my face.

The light inside me fractures, splintering into shadow.

As consolation and solace wane, leaving only hollow air.

And though the night swallows me whole,

In my despair, I must reach for strength I do not feel.

As the core of me crumbles under the weight of grief.

I remember the promise I originally made,

And I will always be there for you.

I will stand beside you in your suffering.

In this moment of sadness and dismay,

I will hold your hand through this darkness.

I will be there until your last day.
